What is linen?
Linen is a natural plant fibre extracted from the stalks of the common flax plant. The linen production process involves harvesting the plants, soaking them, drying them and separating the fibres, which are then spun and woven into fabrics. Environmentally, linen is one of the most sustainable raw materials. Its growing requires much less water than cotton and the entire plant is used, minimising waste. Linen fabrics are biodegradable, meaning that they naturally decompose in the environment without harming the planet.
